The City of Gravette

The Heart of Hometown America

The 127th annual Gravette Day will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2020, in Gravette, Arkansas. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Gravette Day will take on a different look this year. The theme for the 127th Gravette Day is 'I  Gravette.'

PARADE The parade will head toward Main Street at 12:00 PM and feature Grand Marshal Berl Dean and Mary Harris. Berl and Mary are known to many in the community for their long standing auto business and are said to have one of the oldest businesses in town. There will be three parade trophies awarded for best use of the theme, most festive, and overall best entry. Due to the extended parade route, no walking entries will be allowed.

PAGEANTS Pageants this year will only take place for Miss Gravette and Miss Teen Gravette. Pageants will take place at the Civic Center and be closed to spectators. Evening wear and crowning of Miss Gravette 2020 and Miss Teen Gravette 2020 will be live streamed. Entries must be received by midnight on July 27.

PICNIC ON THE PORCH Residents are encouraged to be together while staying apart by having a front porch picnic, reminiscent of the original Gravette Day more than 100 years ago.

PORCH/DOOR DECORATING CONTEST There will be a front door/front porch decorating contest judged by the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this contest will be 'I Gravette.' First, second, and third place winners will be chosen. Thanks to the Bank of Gravette, winners will receive a $150 gift card, $100 gift card, and $50 gift card, respectively.

There are many ways to participate in this wonderful community event. Forms to enter the pageant or parade or to register your home for the decorating contest are below. Directions on how and where to turn in the forms are included on each form. For more information, contact City Hall at 479-787-5757 or email
