Gravette Day 5K Raises Money for Shop With a Cop
The Gravette Day 5K, held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, raised more than $2,300 for for the Gravette Shop with a Cop program. Despite the heat and humidity, more than 120 runners participated in the 5K, which was sponsored by Grand Savings Bank. The winner in the men's division was Jonathan Johnson of Gentry with a time of 20:59.1. The winner in the women's division was Mary Hudson of Gravette with a time of 21:44.2. The winner in the under 18 division was Noah Theis with a time of 20:59.9. The winners in the men's and women's division received a $25 gift card to CV's Family Foods, donated by the Gravette store. The winner of the under 18 division won a half-dozen donuts, also donated by CV's Family Foods. Chief Charles W. Skaggs of the Gravette Police Department said, "Our Shop with a Cop program would not be possible without the generous support of the community."
Gravette's Shop with a Cop program is in its fourth year and has been honored to serve 20 children during that time. Funds for this program are entirely donated.
