The City of Gravette is accepting applications for a full-time position of Executive Administrator to the Mayor.

Salary: $35,000 to $ 40,500 Depending on qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY – Executive administrator to the Mayor

To uphold the mission and values of the City. To assist the Mayor with the day to day and growth of the City of Gravette AR.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with New Business and other agency teams on RFP’s, meetings, presentations, etc.

  • Assists in defining goals for new business development.

  • Advocates knowledge of and supports the Cities mission, culture, confidentiality, standards, etc.

  • Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on new market / business leads and opportunities.

  • Initiates and manages effective relationships with selected, developed leads on an ongoing basis.

  • Manages multiple new business prospects and city projects.

  • Assists in recommending, establishing, and being accountable to implement strategic and/or tactical new city marketing plans designed to achieve Administrative goals and objectives.

  • Evaluates market research and adjusts long term city strategies to meet changing market conditions (At the direction of the Mayor).

  • Contributes to developing and maintaining an up to date City database.

  • Works collaboratively with the Mayor to ensure that all communications and materials reflect the cities Mission and personality.

  • Works collaboratively with other agency offices when deemed necessary by the Mayor.

  • Develops and implements plans and programs fostering the redevelopment of downtown and strengthening the downtown business climate. Plans include marketing, communications, promotional activities, and assisting with the development/historical implementation of physical improvements to downtown property.

  • Helps formulate and/or updating the revitalization program for the Central Business District as a means to promote positive economic development.

  • Initiates and develops efforts to implement the Downtown Master Plan, City master plan, as well as other projects and programs that foster downtown development and redevelopment.

  • Serves as city staff liaison and/or organizer of various downtown festivals and events, including but not limited to Gravette Days, Hiwasse fall festival, and Christmas parade.

  • Provides business development assistance, such as finding locations and design assistance.

  • Coordinates the implementation of the downtown program with standing committees, special committees, and task forces.

  • Develops collateral marketing materials and public information about City development activities. to promote public awareness.

  • Maintains active contact with state, regional, and national entities supporting City interests, as directed by the Mayor.

  • May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects, as required

  • Develops administrative staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.

  • Resolves administrative problems by, analyzing data, and identifying solutions, when directed by the Mayor.

  • Ensures operation of IT equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Provides information by answering questions and requests.

  • Oversee Technology and city communications including but not limited to; website, FB, Twitter, city newsletter, press releases, Mayor’s state of the city address, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Mayor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Five or more years of experience in marketing and developing community strategies/involvement required.

COMMUNICATION ABILITY

Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data. Ability to write reports, presentations and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present results to Mayor, Constituents, Council and other employees of the City.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to recognize and define problems, collect information, establish facts and suggest conclusions based upon information furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

MS Office, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Graphic Arts/photo shop

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Normal office environment. Travel required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use of hands.
